WASTEWATER OPERATOR/PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
Village of Sullivan (pop. 688). Weekend work required. Qualifications: minimum grade 2 wastewater operator’s license or having the ability to obtain certification and the ability to obtain a grade 3 wastewater license with sub grades – A. Primary B. Trickling Filter C. Activated Sludge E. Disinfection F. Anaerobic Digester H. Filtration J. Laboratory. Position is subject to a 24 hour call-out as needed. A CDL is required. This position also includes general maintenance of all village properties to include – a) snow removal; b) street maintenance; c) weed control; d) grass mowing & maintenance of village properties; d) painting; e) tree trimming; f) coordinate part time personnel work schedules.
Ideal candidate shall be self-motivated, able to work well with others, and the ability to work alone with minimal supervision. Salary DOQ + benefits. Public Works General Laborer

Treatment Plant Operator

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Veolia Water North America, the worldwide leader in water/wastewater treatment services, is looking for Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator for our Milwaukee, WI project.

Under close supervision the Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for:

• The control of an assigned process by operations of wastewater treatment equipment. Performs related work on a rotating shift. The rotating shift consists of a twelve hour work day, where the individual works four days on and then has four days off. He/She is required to work one month of day shifts and one month of night shifts. In addition to the normal industrial type environment, the job may involve exposure to sewage, moving equipment, confined spaces, chemicals and odors.
• Qualified candidates should possess a high school degree or equivalent along with knowledge of operating equipment in wastewater treatment. Knowledge of the operation and adjustment of values, mechanical pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, and semi-automatic controls. Valid WI driver’s license required. WDNR license and appropriate sub-grades preferred.

Qualified candidates should possess a high school degree or equivalent along with knowledge of operating equipment in wastewater treatment; four years experience of operating power house equipment in plants containing high-pressure boilers; City of Milwaukee First Class Operating Permit; ability to wear breathing apparatus for confined entry; and a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.

Water/Wastewater Utility Superintendent

City of Ashland, Wisconsin - The City of Ashland Public Works Department, is accepting applications for a Water/Wastewater Utility Superintendent. The position is responsible for the facilities, operations and staff of the Water and Wastewater Utility Division of the Public Works. The Water and Wastewater Utility Superintendent is responsible for accurate record keeping and timely submission of reports to regulatory agencies. This is considered a middle-management, supervisory position. The duties of the Water/Wastewater Utility Superintendent are performed under the supervision of the Director of Public Works.

Qualifications:
Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related field is desired. Supervisory/managerial experience related to water/wastewater
systems or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

Certification requirements:
Wisconsin DNR certifications Grade 1 Surface Water Treatment and
Distribution Operator and Wisconsin Grade 4 Wastewater Operator Certification in Activated Sludge,
Disinfection, Laboratory, Primary Settling, Mechanical Sludge Handling, and Phosphorus Removal.

Wages and Hours:
Salary is $47,000 to $52,000 DOQ plus a generous fringe benefit package including health, dental and life insurance, and WI Retirement pension plan. The successful applicant before entering into service with the City of Ashland shall be required to pass a full and complete physical examination.

Wastewater Operator

Stevens Point - The Stevens Point Wastewater Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Wastewater Operator. Major responsibilities involve the operation of the City’s wastewater facility and equipment under the supervision of the Wastewater Superintendent and Director of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Departments. Candidates must have a valid Wisconsin DNR general Operator’s Certificate, with two or more years of experience, and a clean driving record with valid Wisconsin driver’s license . Previous work experience, knowledge and education directly related to wastewater plant operations may be acceptable. Salary is per union contract.
