The Utility Department operates, maintains, and repairs the municipal water and wastewater systems for the entire Village including: 3 water towers, 6 wells, 70 miles of water mains, 800 hydrants, 11 sanitary sewage lift stations, 60 miles of sanitary mains, and the wastewater treatment plant that treats approximately 1.50 mgd. Utility Operators perform a wide variety of tasks pertinent to the operation and maintenance of these systems. This Operator position will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the Village Utility and work both within the wastewater treatment plant as well as maintain the wells/water towers and sanitary collection system throughout the Village. The Water and Wastewater Utility Department includes 8 Utility Operators, Field Operations Coordinator, Facility Operations Coordinator, Utility Director/Engineer, Office Assistant, and Administrative Specialist.

The current pay range for this position is $28.22 to $39.48 per hour, depending on qualifications.
